Support and Charity work within the local community

Towards the end of 2017 our businesses made the commitment to support two local charities. Malton Coachworks will be working with Ryedale Food bank and Classic & Sportscar Centre are working closely with Ryedale Mencap.

In November a number of our Staff helped Ryedale Food Bank by collecting donations in Morrison’s Supermarket, Malton, and more recently on the 1st February, the Malton Coachworks team managed to fill one of the Company vans with food and products to help top up donations. As a company, we want to make difference locally, and until coming across Ryedale Foodbank, we hadn't realised the level of poverty so close to us in our local community. Malton Foodbank is supported by the Trussell Trust which runs a network of over 400 foodbanks, giving emergency food and support to people in crisis across the UK, where thirteen million people live below the poverty line. In the last year the Trussell Trust gave 1,182,954  three day emergency food supplies to people in crisis. Foodbanks also offer a lot more than food. Volunteers provide a listening ear to clients over a warm drink, and signpost people to other charities and agencies who can help resolve the underlying cause of the crisis. Foodbanks rely on the support of local business communities and we plan to offer help and support throughout 2018 and hopefully beyond.
